Forgandenny - A Place in History
This new book covers the complete history of the Parish of Forgandenny up to 1930. The parish and the people are presented within the local and national events of the time. Many parishioners actually influenced the history of Strathearn and Scotland as well as taking part in those events. The book has a comprehensive index and compendium including the early Freeland Estate Rentals and later Parish Councils and School Boards. Each of the 22 chapters is in chronological order to accommodate any interests readers may have in particular eras. For instance
CHAPTER 2 THE ANGLO-NORMAN CELTS 1050 - 1340
CHAPTER 4 THE LORDS RUTHVEN 1500 - 1553
CHAPTER 11 THE WORLD IN A PARISH 1756 - 1783
CHAPTER 15 THE FREE VICTORIANS 1842 - 1856
CHAPTER 22 AFTER ALL THAT 1918 - 1930
